    Computer Technician- Farmingdale, NY


    Job Summary- This position will be primarily responsible for the procurement, configuration, monitoring and troublesooting of the Enzo desktop environment, including PC's, thin-clients, printers and scanners.



    • Desktop support
    • Responsible for 1st level network technical support, including password reset’s, unlocking user ID’s and assigning appropriate network access
    • Configure, test and install desktop hardware
    • Must be proficient in Windows OS, including 2000/XP/Win7
    • Must be proficient with Dell and HP laptops/desktops/thin-clients, including encrypted hard drives and portable USB drives
    • Must be proficient with HP/Okidata LaserJet/inkjet printers, etc.
    • Must be proficient with security software, including Symantec Endpoint Protection and eEye Blink
    • Requires a moderate understanding of Active Directory
    • Requires knowledge of network security best-practices
    • Requires a basic understanding of network architecture and troubleshooting techniques
    • Requires basic knowledge of monitoring applications, including Solarwinds ipMonitor and Engineers Toolset, Cisco ASDM and IPS Manager, Wireshark/sniffer.
    • Monitor Network Antivirus software and resolve virus infections
    • Print requisition forms as requested
    • Print morning reports
    • Provide EnzoDirect phone support, as needed
    • Provide and maintain documentation, as needed
    • Ensures all changes are captured through Change Control
    • Have the ability to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical internal/external customers
    • Responsible for day-to-day operations
    • Be dedicated to outstanding customer service
    • Meet 99.0% availability objectives
    • Ensure security policies and internal guidelines are adhered to
    • Adhere and enforce compliance guidelines i.e., Corporate, Departmental, Sarbanes Oxley, HIPAA, State, CAP
    • Ensure all PHI remains protected
    • Requires basic knowledge of Cisco internetworking devices, including routers, switches and ASA’s/firewalls
    • Meet 99.0% network availability objectives
    • Ensure security policies and internal guidelines are adhered to
    • Manage and maintain tape backups for all Windows-based servers



    Associates or Bachelo's degree

    A+, MCSE or similar preferred.

    • 3 + years’ experience in Desktop Administration field
    • Hardware and OS knowledge to support Windows environment, excellent knowledge on desktop and laptop troubleshooting Dell, HP.
    • Knowledge of testing principles, methodologies and automated test tools.
    • Excellent expertise in troubleshooting hardware and operating system related issues for desktops and laptops
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills on Windows operating systems, desktop applications, LAN troubleshooting.
    • Expertise in installing, configuring and troubleshooting printer and print related issues.
    • Backup, restore and tape management.
    • Expertise in troubleshooting and configuring remote access, VPN, wireless routers and cable modems.
    • Working knowledge of Proxy, DHCP, WINS, DNS, SMS and MS Active Directory, SAV (all versions) and patch management.
    • Expertise with Microsoft office, MS Project, Visio, Adobe suite, Outlook, WinZip etc.
    • Knowledge on antivirus client software installations, patch and hotfix installation.
    • Documentation skills.
