  • Position Overview

    Responsible for supporting all aspects of procurement and purchasing to fulfill customer and internal demand. This position will work with internal departments to ensure orders meet all schedule and budget demands, and work with vendors to ensure quality product, accurate quantity delivery, and resolution of any discrepancies that may occur.


    1. Prepare and process purchase orders, including verifying specifications and ensuring appropriate level of approvals.
    2. Obtain quotes, prices, and specifications from suppliers and place orders.
    3. Coordinate with internal departments to resolve pricing discrepancies and product availability issues.
    4. Confirm accuracy of orders.
    5. Track packages and monitor on-time delivery, quality, and accuracy.
    6. Contact suppliers to resolve any shipment-related problems to ensure timely delivery of goods.
    7. Under the direction of the Procurement Supervisor, assist with conducting vendor searches and sourcing products and critical raw materials.
    8. Maintain accurate documentation of purchased goods.
    9. Coordinate the return of merchandise, including requesting Return of Material Authorizations (RMA) and entering purchase order returns into the ERP system. 
    10. Communicate daily with Warehouse personnel regarding receiving issues.
    11. Locate inventory in the ERP system and other online systems.
    12. Assist with building efficiencies into the procurement process, including consolidating orders from vendors.
    13. Assist in month-end and year-end reconciliation activities.
    14. Create and run reports from the ERP system on a daily basis to support the procurement function.
    15. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


    Education:            Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Experience:           1+ years of scientific, purchasing, or other related experience.


    Skills:                     Must be detail-oriented, have excellent analytical and organizational skills, and proven ability to

                                  manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer service

                                  focus. Computer proficiency required, including MS Word and Excel; database and/or ERP system

                                  experience strongly preferred.
